We used the ball to help with our alignment in the beginner poses. Using this little ball helped me understand the poses better, and find muscles I did not even know I had. It was fun, challenging, and relaxing all at once. The instructor, Nancy, great too, very friendly informative and helpful. If you have not tried it, I recommend you check it out!

As a beginner yoga student I was a nomad looking for a place to settle. I wandered into the Yoga Centre Winnipeg one Spring day and soon found myself participating in an early morning practice with a room full of strangers. The practice was beyond me, but the teachers were warm, focused and encouraging. I felt at home. That was 6 years ago.
Over the years the Yoga Centre’s respectful approach toward both the student and the asana practice has allowed me to “wake up” physically and personally in a safe, nurturing community. All of the opportunities to explore the various limbs of yoga (sadhanas, meditation mentoring, workshops, teacher training) has kept my practice vibrant and growing.

I am very grateful for the opportunity to express my gratitude for the Yoga Centre Winnipeg’s carefully planned classes, amazing teachers, and the immense dedication to the yogic tradition.
I began taking classes at the YCW about 4 years ago, and proceeded to enter their teacher-training program in September of 2007. It was immediately obvious to me that the teachers, students and studio share a palpable presence that continues to inspire my practice today. Jan, Shauna and the other teachers at the YCW have worked very hard to create an environment where the heart, mind and body can safely grow.
The classes and the workshops offered follow a natural, seasonal and forward motion that allows students to weave the poses, breaths and meditation concepts off the mat and into life, regardless of the level of practice. I value this especially now that I have moved away from Winnipeg, and I notice that I continue to learn from my experiences there.

I am 62 years old and have only practiced yoga for about 10 years. I cannot believe how beneficial it is for me, both physically and mentally. It is particularly helpful in coping with IBS and arthritis. I wish I had discovered yoga much sooner!
My friend and I love the Yoga Centre because the facility is bright and welcoming, and the instructors are helpful and considerate. We really enjoy each class, especially because there is no pressure to do more than we feel is appropriate for us. We also like the flexibility of having classes on different days and at different times so we are able to attend whatever it works for us. When we have to miss a week, we really notice the difference in how we feel.

Hi, I used to be a member of your studio but moved to Vancouver last summer. I have a hip injury and decided on your studio after seeing how knowledgeable all your instructors were. They all knew what poses I should not do and had good alternative suggestions. I loved your classes because they increased my core strength (great for the injury), my flexibility (also great), the instructors would not allow me to do poses I was capable of doing because they knew they were bad for me and would correct me if I was even slightly out, and it was intensely meditative. I would walk away from every class feeling energized.
